We are independent, not-for-profit, and led by local recovery community members.

The activities of a recovery community organization (RCO) are available to all community members and are not restricted to individuals enrolled in a specific educational, treatment, or residential program.

We are dedicated to peer support, advocacy, and stigma reduction.

We meet individuals during their most challenging moments, provide immediate and ongoing support, and guide them toward recovery resources, opening doors and removing barriers as we are able.

We believe in the power of community to transform lives.

Our mission is to join individuals in assessment of their personal "river of life" journey and provide compassionate, evidence-based peer support. We are committed to fostering a community where recovery is celebrated and sustained.

History

As a grassroots initiative, we began our work with a few hopeful conversations at a local cafe in 2022. Those conversations, made possible by the efforts of many others before us, were fueled by the potential for recovery in the lives of our peers and the shared vision of a community where anyone could recover.

By June 2023, we began to meet at the Anchor House conference room on a regular basis to consider how success in our mission would look and to guard against the shortcomings of those who had been less successful.

When we finally reached out to local leaders with our plans, we began to see prayers answered with surprising and encouraging frequency:

Learn More, Get Involved

How can I become a community member?

We welcome people with all backgrounds and experience to join our community. You can start by attending one of our weekly meetings or connecting with us on Facebook.

How can I get involved as a volunteer?

We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and experience levels to join our community. Contact us directly to discuss how you can use your skills and passion to support others in recovery.

How does peer recovery work?

Our trained peers, with sufficient background and/or successful recovery, walk alongside anyone ready to begin the journey of recovery. This walk involves connection (how are you?), obstacle identification (what's keeping you where you are?), and resource location (what can move you beyond this?).

Why focus on health and wellness?

By focusing on what creates health and wellness instead of what causes disease, we emphasize identification and reinforcement of resources and strengths individuals possess to build resilience, manage stress, and maintain well-being on their recovery journey.
